Ding Dong’s Story

This kitten was found on the side of a freeway.

A Good Samaritan was driving to work on Friday and had just gotten onto the freeway when she saw a black floof on the shoulder. She quickly pulled over, put her hazards on, and ran to grab this black kitten. He was shaking. She put him in her car and went home to give him a bath and helped him settle in.

We have no idea how he got there, or how long he was on the freeway alone.

She noticed he wasn’t putting weight on one of his legs so she brought him to the vet for x-rays and he was given a splint because his leg was broken. She then reached out to 20+ rescues looking for someplace that could help him. Rescues now are incredibly overwhelmed, especially in the LA area. Although we were also overwhelmed, we were able to take him in.

This little black kitten came into our clinic, and everyone fell in love with him! He is so sweet and playful, and he loves everyone. We call him Ding Dong because he looks like a Hostess Cupcake.

A vet evaluated him and determined that he needed surgery. A surgeon placed a small pin in his leg to improve the healing. Ding Dong is now recovering from surgery, and he is doing great!

The total cost of this surgery will be around $3,000.
