Pepper’s Story

Pepper was a kitten adopted out by Smittens, then a few months later near Christmas 2020, she was diagnosed with FIP. Her owners scheduled her for euthanasia and contacted us to let us know that unfortunately, the kitten we’d adopted to them had this deadly disease.

There is a cure for FIP, however, it is not FDA approved, and the owners could not currently afford the treatment at that moment, so they relinquished Pepper and her bloated belly full of fluid back to us for the 12 weeks, $4K course of daily injections.

Pepper did wonderfully, and after she was cured, was adopted into a loving home: back to her original owners.
